Hall of Fame Unveils Michael Jordan Exhibit

It was stated in early April that Michael Jordan would be inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame this September. In honor of this great feat, the James Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has unveiled a new exhibit that allows fans and visitors to remember Jordan’s extensive legacy and accomplishments.

This newly-designed exhibit, which is a partnership product of Jordan Brand, Nike and the previously mentioned Basketball Hall of Fame, is officially named ‘Become Legendary: The Story of Michael Jordan‘. Included in this timeless portrayal will be various footwear, apparel and a collection of photos, videos, quotes and artifacts pertaining to Michael Jordan himself. It was only right for the Hall of Fame to give Jordan his own section seeing that he contributed more than you can imagine to the game of basketball.

“As Jordan Brand embarks on the silver anniversary celebration of the AIR JORDAN franchise, we are thrilled with the Basketball Hall of Fame’s efforts to honor Michael Jordan, the Hall’s Class of 2009 and their contributions to the game of basketball,” said Sean Tresvant, Director of Marketing for Jordan Brand.

‘Become Legendary: The Story of Michael Jordan‘ will be available for public display throughout 2009. On a bigger note, Jordan’s enshrinement will be the weekend of September 10-12th.

Vans 46 CA Low Fall 2009 Lineup

In June, Vans released a two-sneaker pack of the 46 CA Hi model which featured a red colorway and a black colorway. Now, photos of the Vans 46 CA Low Fall 2009 lineup have surfaced and are now available at Flauge.

The low-cut sneaker will come in three colorways for the fall including turquoise, green and yellow. All three pairs feature a tonal base combined with a white vulcanized rubber sole. Fragment Design x Nike Air Zoom All Court Premium

In the past, Nike Sportswear and Fragment Design have teamed up to design simple, stylish designs, namely the Nike Tennis Classic (which also included the help of Uniform Experiment). However, instead of collaborating on a classic Nike sneaker, both sides have now designed a new model dubbed the Nike Air Zoom All Court Premium.

This model’s makeup is almost identical to the aforementioned Nike Tennis Classic except it possesses a rubber toe cap. As for the colorway, this sneaker owns a 100% white leather upper with a black/orange Nike logo on the tongue. In addition, this shoe also features a perforated swoosh on the side panels. The Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier III XDR is designed for outdoor use, yet still maintains the lightweight performance that the Soldier III is synonymous with. The key in strengthening the longevity of the shoes comes from XDR, Extra Durable Rubber. Unfortunately, these will only release as an Asia Exclusive so they won’t hit US Stores. Earlier in the month we gave you a preview of the Medicine Ball inspired Trainer III. Today, they have arrived at Premier.

The Nike Air Trainer III “Medicine Ball” features medicine ball colored accents combined with white and navy blue. With all of the classic features from the Trainer III, and a fresh colorway, these should find a place in the closet for many folks. These will set you back $110.

Jordan Element Performance Review

As we all know, streetball is nothing less than a ritual throughout the United States, let alone the entire world, year in and year out. Each summer, Jordan Brand releases multiple outdoor sneakers exclusively designed for the rigors of the outdoor playgrounds. One of the outdoor designs created for this summer season is this Jordan Element. Although we first spotted this particular sneaker on Ray Allen’s feet towards the end of the 2008-09 NBA, many sneaker enthusiasts really took a liking towards it upon seeing it as a part of the Quai 54 x Air Jordan “Ruff & Tuff” Pack.

We put the Jordan Element through indoor and outdoor performance tests to see how it could handle both elements of play. Click here to see how Jordan Element performed.

Usually, most people associate predominately black-colored sneakers with the fall/winter season; however, Nike has just released a stylish Air Force 1 of a similar colorway in the middle of the summer at select retailers such as Dunk.

This Nike Air Force 1 Supreme Max Air contains a primarily black leather base mixed with a translucent midsole and a black outsole. Other features include a visible Air sole unit and white details in the form of the swoosh and inner lining. Nike will unveil a plethora of high-top sneakers, namely the re-release of the Nike Dynasty. We have already spotted the Black/White colorway and the Black/Red color scheme; however, photos of a collaboration design on the Dynasty has now surfaced.

This particular sneaker is the product of a joint effort between Japanese music group Mighty Crown and Nike Sportswear; it was designed as a tribute to the 15th anniversary of the Mighty Crown Yokohama Reggae Festival. As for its design, this shoe possesses some very unique attributes. For example, it features a stone-studded ankle strap and a double flag logo on the tongue. The color scheme is comprised of black, red and gold. No word on when this shoe will release, yet, click here to view additional photos.

Nike’s Air Toki has been seen in number of colorways. The simple silhouette has now been spotted in anothr sample colorway.

A combination of black and lime are applied this time to the Nike Air Toki. This colorway follows another sample, the Obsidian and Pink colorway. No release date, or information is available as of yet, but expect these to be limited, if and when they hit retailers. If you’re lucky enough to be able to fit into a sample size 9, you can pick them up now from OSneaker for $180.

This red and white colorway of the Nike Air Max 90 Current Huarache will hit retailers early next month. Most of you seem to feel this hybrid is taking away from the classic Air Huarache and Air Max 90. However, with the recent success of the Maxim 1, maybe some of you will reconsider? Converse “AC/DC” Collection

Recently, Converse has been paying tribute to infamous music bands such as Pink Floyd and Bad Brains. To continue rocking with its music inspirations, Converse will soon release a three-sneaker collection that honors the Australian rock band AC/DC.

This upcoming lineup will consist of three sneakers including two Converse Chuck Taylor models and one Star Player 75 model. The unique, multi-colored designs on the base of the sneakers are inspired by the AC/DC’s album covers and other instances in the bands lifetime. Earlier this summer, Vans catered to the beachgoers by releasing a couple colorways of the Vans 106 SF. Now, later into the summer, Vans will introduce an updated version of the 106. Is simplicity a must for you or would you rather wear a more eye-catching sneaker?

Vans has now added a white vulcanized sole to the 106 model. To coincide with that section, this particular sneaker features white contrast stitching throughout the base and white shoelaces. This month’s Nike Skateboarding Quickstrikes have arrived at SB retailers like Premier.

This month, the Quickstrikes include the Nike SB Dunk Low and Nike SB Blazer Swoosh Life. The Dunk Low combines Varisty Blue and Pink Ice colors over the classic silhouette. While the SB Blazer features the moniker “Swoosh Life” across the heels, and comes in a cream color with Hot Red accents. You can pick up either of these for $92.

LeBron to Follow Dwyane Wade to Jordan Brand?

Hold your horses! Please notice the question mark at the end of the title before you text your friend or create a Twitter update saying, LeBron James has signed with Jordan Brand. We all know LeBron has 90,000,000 reasons to be more than comfortable as a part of the Nike brand; however, we did spot King James in a pair of Jordan sneakers over the weekend.

LeBron James was spotted at the University of Kentucky campus shooting around in the white/green colorway of the Air Jordan 9 model. If you recall, James wore this same sneaker in high school; the colorway obviously incorporates St. Vincent St. Mary’s color scheme. It also contains minimal gold accents in the form of the Jordan logos seen on the sole and the tongue. If LeBron James so happened to join Jordan Brand, wouldn’t that be unreal? Earlier this week we came across a photo snapped by Chris Paul of a lineup of all white Air Jordans which raised a few eyebrows to say the least. We have since received word that these White/Silver samples were constructed for an on campus event commemorating the 25 years that Michael Jordan has been with Nike.

While we can not confirm or deny whether the shoes will make it to retail, we can give you a better look of the Air Jordan 11 from the series. Hypothetically if these released would they be a purchase or pass?
